GEO & AI Visibility
Get found where people no longer search, but ask.
- Created
- Last updated
More and more people are asking ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews their questions instead of a results list. If you're not there, you lose enquiries without ever seeing it in the rankings. Generative Engine Optimization makes your content readable, citable and verifiable for answer engines.

GEO & AI Visibility: Technologies we use
What Generative Engine Optimization Really Is
Classic search engine optimisation works towards a results list: ten blue links, and you want to be one of them. Answer engines don't deliver a list, they deliver an answer — and it contains either your name or a competitor's. There's no second place left to click.
This changes the work in three places. First, a language model has to be able to read your content at all — many websites block the relevant crawlers without knowing it. Second, the text has to be structured so that a statement can be cleanly extracted and quoted. Third, every statement needs evidence, because models prefer sources that provide verifiable information.
Why We Don't Just Advise on This
We operate our own platform, Rankion, which measures visibility across multiple answer engines — including an overview of which engine actually evaluates which signals. This work is why we can say something about GEO that goes beyond generic advice.
Add to that more than 200 of our own portals with a combined 300,000 visitors a month. What we recommend to you, we have already tested on our own sites first — with the risk on our side.
The Honest Part
No one can guarantee a placement in an AI answer, and anyone who claims otherwise is selling you something other than advice. What can be guaranteed: that your content is technically reachable, that your statements are backed by evidence, and that you can measure what changes. Everything else follows from that — or it doesn't, and then you see it in the numbers instead of guessing at it.
Want to know where you stand first? The GEO Check reviews your website's technical foundations in about 30 seconds — free and with no sign-up required.

GEO & AI Visibility: Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most important questions about GEO & AI Visibility.
What is the difference between SEO and GEO?
Search engine optimization aims for placement in a results list, while Generative Engine Optimization aims for a mention in a generated answer. The technical foundation overlaps significantly: clean structure, fast delivery, accessible content. The difference lies in how a text needs to be structured so that a language model can cleanly extract a single statement and reproduce it with a source citation.
Can you guarantee a placement in ChatGPT?
No, and we would be wary of any agency that claims to. Answer engines decide anew with every query and change their behavior with every model version. What we can guarantee is the foundation: that your content is technically accessible, that your statements are backed by evidence, and that you can measure changes instead of guessing at them.
How long does it take before you see results?
The technical points take effect as soon as the answer engines re-crawl your pages, which takes anywhere from days to a few weeks depending on the system. Content work takes longer, because its effect only builds up over multiple updates. That's why we set up measurement before the first action, so the baseline is established.
Do we need GEO if our SEO is already doing well?
Good SEO gets you halfway there: many of the technical requirements are the same. The other half is new: verifiability, citability and access for crawlers that didn't exist two years ago. The fastest way to find out is our free GEO check.
What does this cost?
That depends on the scope: a one-time analysis with an action plan is different from ongoing management with monthly measurement. We quote the price after an initial consultation in which we look at your website, rather than giving a flat-rate offer that misses your specific case.
