Which recurring obligations there are
Depending on legal form and size, companies in Germany must meet recurring obligations: the advance VAT return and payroll tax return by the 10th of the following month, annual tax returns, publication of the annual financial statements, annual data protection and safety briefings, and regular review runs such as the GDPR deletion concept. This free calendar works out from eight details about your company which of these obligations affect you, and exports them as an ICS file into your calendar.
In taxes & accounting these are the advance VAT return (Section 18 UStG), the payroll tax return (Section 41a EStG), the annual tax returns (Section 149 AO), the trade tax return (Sections 19, 25 GewStG) and the review of the small business thresholds (Section 19 UStG). In data protection, the deletion concept (Art. 17 GDPR) and the annual data protection training (Art. 32, 39 GDPR) recur regularly. In occupational safety it is the annual safety briefing (Section 12 ArbSchG). In company law, publication of the annual financial statements (Sections 325, 326 HGB) and the IHK or HwK membership fee (Section 2 IHKG) are added. And in HR, larger companies are affected by the compensatory levy for severely disabled persons (Sections 154, 160 SGB IX).
What missed deadlines can lead to
Missed deadlines rarely go without consequences. Late tax returns attract late filing surcharges under Section 152 AO. Anyone who fails to publish the annual financial statements risks administrative fine proceedings under Section 335 HGB, with fines starting at 2,500 euros. For data protection violations, Art. 83 GDPR provides for fines. And because many of these obligations lie with the management, you may well carry the liability risk personally.
Calendar subscription vs. active deadline management
The ICS file from this tool is a static one-off export: it reminds you reliably, but it does not ensure that an obligation is actually fulfilled; there is nobody who is liable or follows up. Active deadline management means more: every obligation has a responsible person, a status and proof that it has been fulfilled. That is exactly what the Company Audit cockpit provides. The calendar is your first step, the cockpit the continuation for everyone who wants not only to keep an eye on deadlines but to work through them reliably.
Frequently asked questions
Which deadlines do companies have to meet regularly?
Depending on legal form and size, companies in Germany must meet recurring obligations: advance VAT returns and payroll tax returns by the 10th of the following month, annual tax returns, publication of the annual financial statements for corporations, annual data protection and safety briefings for employees, and regular reviews such as the deletion concept under the GDPR. The compliance deadline calendar works out from your company profile which of these obligations apply to you.
Is the compliance deadline calendar free?
Yes, the tool is completely free and can be used without sign-up. You answer eight short questions about your company and immediately receive your overview of dates together with the ICS download, with no email address and no registration.
Does the ICS file work with Outlook, Google and Apple Calendar?
Yes. The downloaded .ics file follows the iCalendar standard and can be imported into Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar and Apple Calendar. Every obligation is created as a recurring event, monthly, quarterly or yearly depending on its cycle.
Are the dates in the calendar the statutory deadlines?
No, deliberately not. The actual statutory deadlines depend on your individual case, for example your previous year’s tax or your balance sheet date. The calendar therefore creates generic review dates at the start of each month so that you are reminded in good time before the actual deadline. The real statutory cycle is stated in the description of each event.
Is my data stored?
No. Your company profile and the calculation of dates never leave your browser, and the calendar file is generated entirely locally in your browser too. No personal data is collected, transmitted or stored.
